You should probably reevaluate why you are on this website, and understand what this website actually is before you post more.

You’re right the article should have been titled:

“A study in the difference of culture ideas on the eating of endangered animals as sparked by the controversy of the pop culture icon Katy Perry making instagram messages while in Japan.”

It does. Its about whale meat in Japan. It just happens that the discussion was sparked by a pop culture icon, that being Katy Perry.

Its nice you didn’t read the whole article, but its a piece about the differences of social values between two cultures. Kotaku is a pop culture blog.

I’ve had 5759 Unique user downloads on my main mod. Know how many donations?

You know FF14 is getting/has a cash shop too now right?

This is a really good review. I’m also playing it on PC and you were pretty spot on. I’d also like to add that the game is pretty much 90% soloable outside of the PvP stuff. I’d disagree that any of the choices you can make are actually meaningful though but they are nice none the less.

People are already pirating paid mods.

Workshop mods have to be 100% packaged as BSAs. The workshop doesn’t allow loose files. So what you’ll get if you download a mod is a BSA packaged with everything, and an ESP plugin file that enables it. The thing is Skyrim with out a mod manager isn’t set up to handle just BSA files. For example if I reskin imperial

So apparently this already might become a thing.

Well in the case of donations, you aren’t paying for the content of the mod. You are just giving the person money. The main communities that allowed donations (Nexus for example) also made it against their ToS to actually ASK for donations, or lock content behind the wall of “donate to get these features!” It was also

I’m a modder and an amateur artist. I use my art in my mods on the caveat that they will not be redistributed without permission or used for profit. The mods I make build upon the foundation set by other users. When these foundations start being charged for and put behind a pay wall, the whole castle comes crumbling

It was against Bethesda’s terms of service to sell or make any money off any modding that had to do with their games.

As a mod creator this is disgusting. We are going to see an influx of user created content being stolen from creators and sold on steam. It was already an issue with mod thieves stealing other author’s work, but now they will attempt to get paid for it. This is the tip of the iceberg of the cluster fuck this all is.
