That’s what the industry calls an “in-bay automatic”. The car is stationary, and the machine moves around the car. Drawbacks are car per hour processing is comparatively low and typically these are “no touch” or “light touch”. Because of the lack of friction, they rely heavily on chemistry to do most of the cleaning.

Actually, I operate an express exterior wash (automated, driver never leaves the car) that spends 5 minutes polishing your car after the exterior wash

Don’t use older or neglected in-bay automatic washes, you mean.

As a an industry guy, I can say the collision avoidance systems are not affected by every wash. However, the industry is starting to move toward conveyor belt type drive systems (where the customer places their vehicles in park vs neutral). 250,000 really isn’t that much compared to the daily amount flowing through the pipeline especially over a period of several days

Mexican isn’t a race

Great. I’m looking forward to being behind a 68mph-limited truck trying to pass another 68mph-limited truck with slightly different sized tires.

Finally!

I think all you need to get is that dakoda (spelled that way) is a really dumb name

Why so many nipples? That’s like dog-level nipples.

Kinja’d

Nope, still there

My hell car is my 1998 GST Spider - bought in 2003 and jumped head first into an awd conversion in Oct. 2004 - also the last time I drove the car. Mostly complete, I just lost interest. It still sits in a barn taunting me, with 70k miles on the odometer.
