America was founded by a group of Christian men.
It's an article about rape and the backlash she is experiencing for talking about her rape. How is chiming in with more backlash appropriate? Jezebel does articles about Dunham all the time. I've criticized her and her show too. I guess I just don't see how it's necessary and appropriate to pile on more backlash…
Then what was the point of going on about awful you think she is when the topic is the fact that she's a rape survivor? It's really offensive and not the right time and place.
This is isn't an appropriate place for it. Jezebel and Gawker write plenty of posts about Dunham in which you can criticize her. On a post about rape, it's not okay. It just reinforces the bullshit misogynist notion that 1) women deserve to be raped if they have character flaws and 2) that rape victim is an…
I just can't keep up. I thought Anita Sarkeesian was the poster child for feminism.
What does this have to do her with being a rape survivor? Are imperfect women not allowed to discuss their experiences?
What? Seriously? What world are you living in that you think this? Look at the rest of the comments here. There are a whole lot of people implying that Dunham should get no sympathy or that her rape doesn't matter because she isn't perfect. It's the same shit that always happens when a woman talks about her rape.…
The reason so many rape victims are reluctant to report is that they are often treated horribly. They're blamed. They're not believed. They're even sometimes ostracized and bullied by peers.
That's a good conclusion to draw in any situation really.
Because it's Lena Dunham's fault that unscrupulous media outlets doxxed someone who didn't even fit the description of the rapist that well. Women are so evil that we cause other people to do bad things. We're like demons that possess innocent men.
Because male insecurity is so much worse and so much more important than the trauma of being sexuality assaulted. Ugh. Some people will just find any excuse to make it all about them.
To me, a front butt has always meant something else. It's when someone has a stomach so large it fold up and you can see what looks like a butt crack under their clothes.
A lot of British people don't give a shit about the royals. I don't know we're expected to!
It's not just you. I thought the same thing.
You are very correct. On the other hand, the people that clutch their pearls over their precious snowflakes possibly being exposed to anything ever tend to be upper middle class in my experience.
If fetuses are babies, how come you forced birthers don't put pictures of ultrasounds on your billboards. Why do you put pictures of infants who don't resemble first trimester fetuses in any way? Why, it's almost like you're completely full of shit!
The real goal is for women to become chattel. But it would be bad PR to say this out loud so they grasp at these straws.
Women dying from unsafe illegal abortions is a feature in the right wing's vision of the future. It's not a bug. To them, uppity women who actually think they should be able to have bodily autonomy and actually believe they are real human beings are whores who deserve to die.
