Definitely. I almost had several heart attacks during my first reading of A Song of Ice and Fire. I also get choked up every time I watch the Buffy episode in which her mom dies.

Poor kitty. I'm sorry.

I have no advice. Just a story. When I was a teenager, my cats got fleas. They got into the living room rug of course. The funny thing is, they only bit my mom. They left me, my father, and my brother alone. It was pretty funny.

I would recommend The Willows and the Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood or any of the Books of Blood by Clive Barker. Also, anything by Shirley Jackson.

One of my favorite Pike books. I love the combination of Sci Fi and horror. Chain letter 2 is the scariest of his books in my opinion though.

I actually had no idea that was happening. I guess my parents are pretty cool. They had no problem with me reading them.

I recently found my old copy in my dad's garage. Love it

You can't just say hello and talk about work or whatever shared activity? Do you hate introduce yourself to women by making a comment on her appearance? It's just weird to me that after watching a video about street harassment, the first thing that comes to your mind is how you can comment on women's looks without

It is not respectful to approach women in the street when most don't like it. It is not amicable to tell us our lived experiences are unimportant compared to your desire to get a date.

He asked me not to bother responding back to him because I was rude, yet he's defending approaching strange women in the street when we say we don't like it. The lack of self awareness is strong with this one.

You can't win the argument without tone policing so now I shouldn't talk to you? Why should I respect your desire to be left alone in an internet thread when you care nothing for the desire women have to be left alone while walking down the street? Do you not see the irony here?

You showed three inches of skin? Asking for it.

But that doesn't matter. I learned in the other thread that it's more important that guys be able to make friends or get a date so we must be open to interactions from strangers.

You're essentially saying that it's unfortunate that we have feel frightened and uncomfortable walking down the street, but who cares? RogerSTerling wants a date and nothing is more important that!

Why do you need to make friends with people by randomly approaching them out of the blue? Why is your desire to make friends more important than someone else's sense of safety and comfort? Do you know how privileged you sound? We're worried when a stranger talks to us that it will turn abusive, even dangerous.

Did you not watch the video? Women are harassed on the street and in other public spaces constantly. It makes us feel uncomfortable and unsafe and we don't know when a seemingly harmless interaction is going to turn threatening. If you approach a strange woman, she is forced to evaluate in a split second whether

It would also be a good idea to make the minimum wage a living wage, have universal single payer health care and increased social safety nets so that women and girls don't need to have an abortion for financial reasons. But that won't happen. Especially not in Alabama, because it's Kenyan Muslim atheist socialism

Bible belt logic at its finest.

I think "put a fetus in it" should be the new "put a bird on it."
