I’d say the difference is that the Christian nationalists have gone full “masks off.” They feel confident enough to outright *tell* people what they absolutely plan to do, how they plan to do it, and that they’ll spill blood if we (anyone not subscribing to a bad, third-hand reading of the Bible) fight them.

In a world in which background, metrics, and facts mattered *at all*, that’d be less of a problem. Without getting into defenses or attacks on her record, it isn’t like she was a Palin. DA -> AG -> Senator. Plenty of candidates have had that trajectory. Plenty of hand-picked VPs have had that trajectory.

They refuse to acknowledge that they’re out of touch with the electorate.
