Dignified event? Lol Are they serious? This is an event attended by people like Ozzy Osbourne and Kim Kardashian, not to mention all those self-important media types who can’t even call themselves journalists anymore. It’s hardly a dignified event.

And all the zodiac killer jokes, they made my life.

Holy shit. His Andrew Jackson joke was HILARIOUS. I love this.

I agree. I’m a fan of his show and I was really rooting for him to do well. It’s a big moment. The delivery was off. It created some bad vibes that didn’t need to be there, which in turn made a whole segment of his jokes come across as venal or too obscure. On the other hand one of my favourite parts was the reaction

I have seen a bunch of #hottakes today talking about how Wilmore’s timing was inappropriate because it was a dignified event.

I thought the jokes were funny. Larry Wilmore, not so much. Honestly, I don’t like his delivery.

I was cracking up (or cringing in a good way) almost the entire time. The “Obama’s hair is so white it says all lives matter” killed me. And the part about Morning Joe was so incredibly real. Don Lemon actually handled it the best in my opinion. Yes he flipped him off but it was obviously in a joking way.

Yup! Not a single glorious fuck was given by Larry. And the best part was that Obama seemed to really enjoy it. Maybe minus the drone bit - but alas, that was fully deserved.

I also loved how Larry Wilmore did not give a single fuck about the audience. He straight up did not care about their opinion or their reactions except to laugh at them for being a tough (white) crowd.

I like CSPAN, but his HDMI1 joke cracked me up

What a fucking BAMF. Ties Cecily for best speech since Colbert.

People are fucking weird. This was HILARIOUS. And all the more so by how many complete cringe worthy moments there were, of all these media people being entirely unable to laugh at them selves. Did you guys see Blitzer’s face?? If eyes could kill, Larry would be dead. Dead, I tell ya.

yea I seriously don’t understand. it was a corny tribute to the guy. If people seriously did more than just roll their eyes and actually complained to the station, then they need to get a hobby or something. Love all these businesses that dump their staff over every little “I’m offended” email. It’s fucking ridiculous

Agreed. It was kind of corny, but it wasn't offensive on any level. He must've done something else before this, and they were looking for a reason to get rid of him

There is nothing wrong with that sports report. I thought it was rather clever. Or at least as clever as a sports reporter in Chattanooga is going to get. And it was not disrespectful. He wasn’t making fun of Prince. And why fire the guy? What about a suspension? There’s more going on here than meets the eye.

I wish that Amazon would keep track of when I search for something then immediately buy it! Thanks for the ad for the thing that was delivered yesterday, Amazon, but no thanks.

Fb has thought I was transgender, pregnant, engaged and many other things. Fb makes me way more eclectic than I am

I read an article about fancy gyms in New York. Now Facebook thinks I’m from New York and that I go to the gym.

All I know is that Netflix thinks I am so gay, all my recommendations are gay-themed. My family abroad uses my login and I wonder if they now think I’m gay, too, and they’re too afraid to ask me. I chortle to myself about this at least once a week.

I was googling bipolar when my friend was diagnosed and now tthe internet thinks I have it. You?
