In the 1950s, a group of white doctors at Johns Hopkins preyed on Black women with cervical cancer.” False. False to the point of defamatory. Johns Hopkins was one of the few integrated hospitals in Maryland and I think the only one in Baltimore in 1951. It is absolutely the case that in 2021 what happened to Ms.

Pay the families, but don’t give total control of life-saving information to the estate. If it has to be licensed, researchers will just use lesser, free samples, and that will mean less effective results and more lives lost.

Once in a life time is seeing the Aztec pyramids in person. Watching elephants graze on the plains of Africa. Walking the Great Wall. Watching the Northern Lights. Feeling the winds of the coldest place on earth. Sweating in the Amazon. Not...staying in a heavily branded version of one of those fantasy motel suites.

A good change, honestly. Who really cares about stars. Now if we can just get right to our replies again...

Zoetropes are the coolest. There’s a “My Neighbor Totoro” zoetrope at the Hayao Miyazaki’s Ghibli Museum outside Tokyo (IMHO the best thing in the whole museum). I wonder if the “Toy Story” zoetrope was inspired by that one.

Nintendo has to deny it all cost. If it gets leaked a 4K Switch is coming out it will kill sales of the OLED Switch.

This is a bad take. You did read his complaint, right? Any Lincoln that bottoms out on a speedbump means the bump is too high and/or too sharp of an angle. Just because he bottomed out doesn’t mean he’s a shitty driver.

Whew, mercy, it seems some folks have VERY intense feelings about this show. However, as they say, “get woke, go broke” so probably gonna be some very dismal ratings this year, ESPECIALLY since they seem to think viewers need even more “let’s continue to panic over Covid” television to watch, ffs.

I will say this for CFA: their employees are always friendly (at least the customer-facing ones) and that drive thru line is a prime example of how enough staffing can make seemingly impossible things easy. I have a CFA near my house; the 2-lane drive thru is often wrapped around the parking lot and yet the line moves

I disagree with the idea that Vader being Luke’s father is a net negative. Even in the original film Luke’s was established as having a connection to him through his father and Obi-Wan so it’s not like he was a farm boy from nowhere to begin with. I’d argue it’s the one of the few times the connection is done well. I

What bothers me more than the family connection is just how repetitive the new trilogy feels. TFA is basically a soft remake of the original movie, and then the last one borrows the family connection as leverage for trying to win the hero over to the dark side and a theoretically less powerful villain turning on the

It is one of my not so guilty, guilty pleasures.

Which is ironic because the movie is a fun watch.  It’s so Goddamn bad that it circles around into being good again.  And, it is entertaining.  I’d rather watch an entertaining bad movie than a boring one.  And, he and Sandra Bernhard are the best parts of it.

I want more Hudson Hawk stories!!!!

I thought we learned from Star Trek that maybe we shouldn’t let Whoopi do any old genre tv she thinks would be fun

The most Zach Galifianakis thing to happen right now would be for Zach Galifianakis to remake this meme.

The Greatest Showman: Hugh Jackman falls for a singing Rebecca Ferguson.

“History”? Jesus Christ, who gives a fuck about this?

GM is forever missing the boat on technical innovations. To think, if the EV-1 had been a success and if they could have mass-produced it, there would not be a Tesla today.

In terms of pure “damn, we missed out not having that go into production,” I think Tucker’s at the top of the heap. That thing had innovations that didn’t show up in production cars for decades. If he’d been able to get it off the ground, I suspect we’d still be buying new Tuckers today.
