Can we pause with the Overwatch articles for a bit, maybe until it’s at least almost back up? It’s been less than a day since the end of the beta and I’m already in withdrawal...

Must....get...Mariachi skin...Reaper....zzzzzzz

Yessss. Loved the intro! It was great and the soundtrack fit so perfectly. Gave me samurai Champloo vibes all over again. The track was done by Deltron 3030, or Del the funky homosapien.

Being forced to constantly play a gender you don’t want to in video games. I can’t imagine what that is like.

Valve used to do this, releasing free updates to (some) of their games, like Team Fortress 2, adding maps, game modes, matchmaking, etc. Dice tried that with Battelfield 4, althrough there the game is only 2 years old.

I’m no game developer but I imagine testing for exploits like this is always an uphill battle. I mean a dedicated team of testers on a deadline can only do so much when compared with millions of players with essentially unlimited time to try to break the game.

only game i can think of that beats these guys in regards to dedication to old titles would be microsofts love relationship with age of empires 2.

Simply put, crunch is a result of failure of process and planning. Sadly software development is a gnarly beast, and especially so for video game dev. It is extremely demanding and strenuous, however it doesn’t necessarily have to be done this way.

It is, and don’t call me Surely.

I love the irony of GTA making fun of corporations that screw people over conatantly, but R* themselves are one of them. Sounds like they’re a bunch of corporate dicks.

It’s nothing like that. This is a video game that happens to also support VR. No amount of headset immersion is going to make its core mechanic less tedious or its story any more engaging.

My friend and I jacked a couple of Pikes from the shore and rode them all the way to the Loot Cave for funsies. I’ve never seen so many randoms dance in unison.

You know, a lot of analogies are drawn between this and The Loot Cave, but really it’s missing that je ne sais quois of social interaction between random strangers without mics.

This is kind of an awkward situation with a political history, not an argument about looting or where it becomes ok for archaeologists to remove remains from a site (which is also an issue in the world, but not at the core of this particular debate), because technically its removal from Egypt to Germany was done

That’s a feature. When you star something it shoots you straight to the cosmos.

That makes sense. $10 for a game that you can’t play, or $80 for a game that’s playable, but broken. So a game with no bugs at all should retail for about $10k, right?

yeah compared to the game, there’s too much plot and not enough back story.

If they kept the first person view, then no, the game would not be completely different. I’d be glad to see the line puzzles go though.
