The Doctor always struck me as more of an Armani guy. Maybe Boss, but certainly never Dior.

this guy suddenly bursts into the room, dramatically waltzes up to us, and demands to know if we'd "seen his assistant."

When I came out, my mom told me:

Taking responsibility for and recognizing the reason for failures, providing refunds for those who request them, delivering on backer rewards... this sounds like the right way for a kickstarter project to die, as sad as it may be for those involved. Bravo.

I realized awhile ago that in its 40 years SNL has had exactly two performers of East Asian background (Fred Armisen and Rob Schneider)

Okay, so it's displacement. It's recasting. Point was, she's more talented than Colin Jost, he should've been the one replaced.

My comment is about Jost. In another article they say Lorne matched up Jost to Che, Che to Strong...various combos etc but the chemistry btwn Che & Jost won out. I think this new casting is framed so that we can be excited for Che, when what actually happened is that Jost replaced Strong. Confusing, sorry!

This is also the first time in the shows history when Weekend Update will feature two men instead of a woman and a man.

a less talented white man replaces a more talented female? Color me surprised.

I also don't understand why Michael Che isn't replacing Colin Jost. Cecily Strong's delivery was worlds better than Jost's.

Wonder why Cecily Strong got taken off the desk. If it was for any reason than so drunk girl could come back it's BS. Colin Jost is still wooden and lacks a connection with the audience. It's really disappointing, Strong will be missed.

That officer knowingly chose women who were less likely to report him. Women who were black and who were known by police to have a criminal history with drugs or prostitution (except for his last victim, who did not have a criminal record and reported him). He made them completely powerless. For that he is a giant

The sad thing is Black women are good enough to be anything that isn't a stereotype to people no matter how much we work to dispel those assumptions of us. We work hard to live our lives and find ourselves backed against a wall when shit happens to us. We can neither run nor hide from stuff because we have people

I agree with you 100%. Even as a white woman who has been raped more than once, I openly acknowledge that other groups (notably, black women) are more victimized than mine.

Really well-written piece. It's infuriating and I hope this pig Holtzclaw is persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Holtzclaw, an Oklahoma City police officer, is alleged to have forced eight women, all of them black, to have sex with him or face arrest.
