There’s also the arguement of cost of ownership. Porche is hot right now and if you buy one for $120k, and sell it 2 years later for $110k, that’s a pretty cheap car to drive around.

I love cars, but there’s a psychological barrier as soon as the $1000 mark is crossed. The return on investment really starts to diminish, and perhaps doesn’t rebound until reaching “fuck you” money.
