And this crazy notion that he could build a schumacher situation. Just not his strength.

Yes, he has frequent episodes of douche-baggery that his extreme level if skill doesn’t justify. Gotta hate the sore winner.

I wonder what would have been if Jacques had gone to McLaren....Ranks up there as one of the all time stupidest decisions.

That’s the risk of making the leap with a back marker. You have to demonstrate an ability to perform above the capabilities of your equipment. Bourdais, speed, da matto, zanardi, Andretti, and countless others are examples of people that were given a look and couldn’t do it. F1 has an uncanny success rate at finding

Nope, my bad. Had a year at Mclaren. But Williams was not a back marker when he was there. Still reasonably competitive.

Didn’t Montoya start and finish at Williams?

Indy is so weird though.

Alonso is a god, but Hami is, at best, a Demi-god.

High standards except for guys like Stroll, Maldonado, and the countless other minimally talented pay drivers that seem to find a way on the grid. I hope Liberty finds a way to harmonize revenues so that shit doesn’t happen anymore.

I’ve never really been sure about how good Paul Tracy was. Moments of greatness amongst an equal number of moments of shear stupidity. My hunch is that he wouldn’t have done well in F1 where those judgement errors get magnified.

Disagree that Montoya had a mediocre career. There were plenty of times that he really put in world class perfomaces, and I believe he acquitted himself nicely. If he had’ve listened to the trainers and lost some of that gut, who knows. I don’t think he was really committed and got by on raw talent.

Minardi was always tops for participation in my book. The little engine that.....kinda could. I remember them more fondly for the starts of Fernando and Mark Webber.

I’ve never seen a president use the misdirection tactics of a 7-year-old.

Is there anything about his helmet? It looks new for Indy, no?

Comes with them and a pair of road going fronts as standard equipment. Everything tucks in to a special compartment in the trunk. You are meant to change at the drag strip.

There seemed to be some issue with cooling on Hamiltons car. He couldn’t push because it would just overheat. I assume Mercedes tried something that would allow them to fight Ferrari and it didn’t go as planned.

I guess, but I remember him more animated in his championship year. Maybe he truly feels that third isn’t good enough, and this disappoints him.

Yeah. It clearly looked like a joke to me too. I guess some people don’t pick up on things. This is why, after rewatching Chris Evans, I don’t agree that he was as bad as everyone said.

Fake enthusiasm.

So they count formation laps? Thought they were extra.
