It isn’t terribly different in the US. Our ongoing political dynasties aren’t great. George Wallace’s kid and Barry Goldwater’s kid both held elected office. The Bushes are still a force. Kennedys have a Congressman still. Mitt Romney. And that’s just off the top of my head.

I don’t know what was more painful - the flu, or having to watch that awfulness.

These are the excuses predators depend on otherwise morally upstanding people to make, otherwise they couldn’t exploit systems and expect them to protect them. How this is different than saying “I was just following orders” or “I took each altar boy’s statement and forwarded them to the Cardinal as I was instructed to?…
