I have a rule where I watch Claire Danes in anything. But I have another rule where I avoid Jesse Eisenberg like the plague. “Fleishman is in Trouble” has me super conflicted.

I’ve noticed it’s become a trend with what in retrospect, might be inflated reviews, these days. Critics praising weak seasons in the moment has become more and more common, even as viewers are saying in real time that something isn’t quite right.

He can be good! No shame in enjoying it

It helps that RE2 in general is just a scarier game than Village. But after playing the new demo, I actually agree with the article about the new 3rd person perspective.  I personally prefer 3rd person games anyway, but it's clear RE8 wasn't designed for it, and I can feel that as I'm playing.

A lot of political planning, however, I preferred the sense of urgency the race to find Aegon was last week. But I’d say it delivered at the end. I’ve given Rhaenyra’s bastards a lot of grief, but seeing what happened to Luke was genuinely upsetting. My heart hurts. I... I think it might be sorrow.

As an Alicent fan, I am curious what it is people are seeing that makes Rhaenyra likeable. Is it pity? Because what I watched this season was a girl who resented her privilege in the first half, and a woman who didn’t do much besides stand around (and pump out babies) in the second half. She may have been an entitled

I certainly think the kids on the Greens are more compelling than the kids on The Blacks, none of whom I could really tell you anything about beyond their names.

See, I could roll with that explanation! But it just didn’t look like he implied enough force for that. I know old folks are fragile, but the human skull is still relatively tough. The sheer amount of blood flowing everywhere definitely suggests he was impaled. And for it to be a small blunt object that didn't apply

She was wearing armor, so it's all good!

Things I learned this week:

I agree, and I bet this seemed like a cooler idea in the writer’s room. But onscreen, it was groan-worthy. I’ve already seen some comments compare this kind of silly misunderstanding to the “Martha” moment in BvS, and, well... yea.

Last week’s episode is still better, but this one was solid. Yet another time jump meant yet another disorienting first Act, as I reacclimate myself with who’s who of the new cast (while continuing to be amused at how age works on this show... Suddenly Aemond looks older than Aegon, and Criston Cole has got to be from

TikTok was a good idea.

I can’t deny critiquing the first half as slow, because I literally dozed off for a sec myself.(It was a long night, and the Bucs were losing.) But the second half I can honestly say is the best material the show has offered so far. OLIVIA COOKE SLAYS!

They missed the only joke that matters, and it’s that I just watched 20 friggin minutes of trailers, and would like the movie to start already!

The series wisely ages Claudia up to 14 (she was 5 in the novel and film)“-

“You can literally revisit it any time. Who needs a repeat?”

Those damn beef wellingtons have undone so many contestants, lol

I agree about all 3 of these shows. And though I did drop Gotham somewhere in Season 2, I kept an eye on it, for newsworthy events. Same with the Arrowverse.

I’m with Gil on Hell’s Kitchen. I still watch it. Ramsay’s verbal abuse has softened a bit because times have changed, but those early years were hilarious.
