I'm not even sure who you're criticizing here.

One of the only redeeming qualities? (Or maybe in a series that probably stretched out too little material across too many films?)
Yeah it's weird seeing the kids grow up already but Evan's gotten to really improve his acting since he was a younger kid just reading funny lines. Also interesting to see the middle brother change a bit, finally longing for his external beauty to return rather than being consistently unflappable and only struggling…
Yeah I was a little surprised by that too since I figured a Taiwanese tourist board would make them really try to sell the idea of how cool it is there but I guess a lot details might be a little incongruous with the time period. (like I'm not sure if I recognized that Shilin area, or if it was yet another new remodel…
I got confused by the "ethnic Chinese" stuff since I'm ABC too and a lot of nuance is lost on me but I thought there's too much ethnic parsing (like Han et al) for people to still be all that comfortable with referring to all these different groups beyond a collective as a nationality.
I didn't get that joke, I wasn't sure if there was a string of pedophiles in Taiwan and the idea was that Jessica didn't know or recognize them or that Florida is especially ridden with them?
I actually still haven't read/seen Gone Girl and only read [/listened to the audio]book for this one, but since I am vaguely aware of the Gone Girl twist, I was mostly left wondering which of the three female protagonists had a darker side that would eventually be revealed and it wasn't clear which might be it at the…
I remember hearing there was going to be an animated adaptation of Chew but I wasn't clear if it was going to be basically a more animated webcomic or potential pilot for a TV series? Actual theatrical film? (That last one feels least likely somehow)
My interpretation of that line was that he was explaining that he was going to sleep wth female prostitutes and the cowboys as well. (It was about the time he got off the train and was escorted away by both a male and female host?)
I noticed they implied that Logan is bi or even pan. Not only does he have the two hosts take him away for his orientation where he returns and ostentatiously pulls his fly up, but in his brothel orgy there was a guy lounging by the women.
Janet grants free access to porn if people so desire and the older couple from this episode (was it in any capacity implied they knew each other in life too?) alluded to how their massages got more involved.
I did kind of wonder how much shorthand they're expecting audiences to be familiar with, I'm not really a fan of westerns in general. That said it seems like in some cases the cast must be somewhat riffing on prior roles, and I think particularly Jeffrey Wright as the lead technician and how he served a fairly similar…
I don't quite like this analogy. It seems a bridge too far since people can clearly have racist beliefs in the abstract towards constructs or thoughts of other races in their heads, even though that vague concept itself is not of those races.
Actually it did seem like the clothing the humans wore was vaguely futuristic, just like the weird 3D printing process they implied with the dipping in goop followed/preceded by lasers.
I think it'a an AussieBC show too but I finally learned that The Family Law got renewed for a second season. It'd be great to learn if it's eventually legally available in the US.
If I remember correctly and I didn't make it up, The Eye 10 (really the third one in that series) was sort of about the way Hong Kongers exotify Thailand and how Thai ghost traditions differ from HK. (I may be mixing this up with a slightly different Asian horror movie now I think about it).
There is a Bruce Lee biopic coming up where the main character in the trailers seems to be a white guy loosely based on Chuck Norris.
I could have sworn that the Afterlife guy was supposed to be responsible for writing the pilot but I've heard the showrunner/lead creative voice is actually going to be the Arrow/Flash/Supergirl guy. If Sacasa really is involved I'm curious exactly how many unique variations he can come up with working on the Archie…
I could see it that because Jason is so difficult than Tahani might grow to appreciate having a project to work on that doesn't just fall into her life.
Assuming Josh Chan is the other one, there's also probably Conrad Ricamora from How to Get Away with Murder I'' pretty sure. (He might also be a breakdancer for all I know.)
