Hey...I just wanted to say that you perfectly encapsulated what I feel was “bad” about this season in particular.

I have no problem with main characters surviving, it’s how they survived that’s the issue. So I don’t think the writers are cowards, I just think they failed for this episode.

On one hand I have so many similar questions. On the other hand, we’re talking about a fantasy series with dragons who sometimes seems really powerful and other times feel absent and impotent.

Agreed, but I’d just like to say it’s how you use them that can fall flat, and while I do think more people need to learn how to critique tropes better, the cliches that annoy people are real, even if they come across as ham-fisted themselves when trying to articulate why something has annoyed them so much.
