No, I was objecting to your mindset that anyone who complains about the ridiculous depiction of women in comics is just a white knight trying to impress women. He hasn't said anything creepy, but you're weirdly hostile.

Sorry, responded to the wrong post.

People who use the term "friend zone" are creepy. Having women for friends is a good thing, not punishment.

Most of the most interesting X-Men characters are women, or at least they were back when I still read it. Storm, Kitty Pride, Rogue, Dazzler. You might just be reading the wrong things.

People keep saying he's good at crafting jokes, but I don't see it. I saw his special on Comedy Central and it was really just one joke, structurally speaking, repeated over and over again.

No, Stewart Lee isn't funny. he's like the British Greg Proops.

Or Ally McBeal.

The zombies have super strong jaws and can tear a horse in half in seconds, but also have heads as delicate as eggshells.

Dale reminded her of it while trying to convince her to try to help him stop the execution of the guy in the barn. That's the only time it got mentioned that I remember.

Yeah I could have just listed a bunch of Calvino stuff and called it a day, he's just so fun to read. "The Baron in the Trees," "The Nonexistent Knight" etc.

Maybe not the best, but my favorite novel of the 60's: Gore Vidal's Julian.

It's really jarring to read classic novels filled with really sympathetically drawn, complex characters, and then have a monstrously racist caricature turn up. It's like Mel Gibson has a time machine and is systematically defacing great works of literature. Whether it's Jews in Edith Wharton or Thomas Mann or black

I like Twain, but I wouldn't say he's perfect. The last few chapters of Huckleberry Finn are a mess for instance. Actually I'd say his most consistently good book is "Life on the Mississippi" which really encapsulates the entirety of the Twain persona. Lots of tall tales, self deprecation, nostalgia mixed with

Try the first few pages. If you like the way he describes highways, you'll probably love the book. I loved the book.

My list would include:
Thomas Mann's "Mario and the Magician"
Dostoevsky's "Notes from Underground"
Italo Calvino's "Cosmicomics" and "Invisible Cities"
Henry James "Turn of the Screw"

I'm one of them. The main character is unwatchably hateful to me. I could barely get through it. I spent the entire movie wanting to punch him in the face, and not in a good "love to hate " way.

Plus he has no upper lip.

No it was terrible. But towards the end i guess they knew they were getting cancelled so they started doing weird stuff. One of the characters started believing he was in a sitcom etc.

Closest you'll get is the next X-Men.

So they were hoping to replicate the smashing success of "Til Death's" last season? Smart.
