Avengers was the worst movie I saw in theaters this year. I never even considered seeing most of the movies on this list, so that skews things, and I am emphatically not a fan of Joss Whedon's writing, so I know I'm out of sync with most of the people here.

No way. Palpatine was by far the best part of the prequels. He was the only one who brought any kind of fun to his role.

Seriously, Gone With the Wind is worse than Birth of a Nation. At least Birth is obviously evil. Gone with the Wind is more insidiously awful.
