Didnt Microsoft buy Bungie specifically to secure Halo as an X-box exclusive (there are more examples). To get Destiny multiplatform Bungie had to do a management buyout and sign a 10 year exclusive deal with Activision.

The only effective way to hit them is in their pocket, people dont buy above the market rate from resellers but instead wait on the proper channels and the scalpers are left with stock they cant resell without making a loss and the manufacturer has pocketed the money from the units the scalpers cant shift.
They will make more money from the discless drive version as they will get a bigger cut from digital than physical sales (likely 30% vs 10%) and there will be no secondhand market.
