This, coupled with an Italian speaking English as his second language and you end up with “girls”.
It sounded like he was talking about getting women into driving younger (i.e. girls) so they have the same amount of development time as most boys who come into F1. Most start karting before they’re 10, which I’m guessing is the age where a lot of girls start to drop out due to other interests or other stress factors…
I agree with you, but it the younger male drivers tend to get called “younger” connotation things, especially when they look young too. Like Lando and George; almost constantly called “lads”. But you won’t hear Alonso called a lad.
“he might not even be the best driver on his current midfield outfit”
I’ve never thought of Alonso as a villian... that is such a weird statement.
“Alonso has maintained his status as Formula 1's resident villain for years”
I have been watching, on and off, since season 1. I still find it boring because: advertising tunnels they drive in - what is the use to going all over the world if you only see ad billboards; then there is the width of the track, too narrow; and think about the ambient sounds (or lack of); let not forget the stupid…
The particularly low landing
Another good argument for more public transport options.
McLaren’s search for a driver to replace Daniel Ricciardo on its Formula 1 team has been turbulent, to say the least. The British team sought to sign the reigning IndyCar champion Alex Palou from Chip Ganassi Racing.
We all know the answer.
Oh totally, yeah. I just shorthanded it with Todt as team principal. Ferrari poached most everyone else from Benetton-Ford, didn’t they? Maybe I should’ve called it the “Benetton” era!
Binotto has made some absolutely boneheaded decisions this year. I can’t recall if he did it in the last few years but I’d guess he did and Ferrari weren’t fighting for the championship so no one noticed or cared. Between their strategy and reliability it’s costing them so much. If this keeps up Mercedes is going to…
To add insult to injury they did it after they knew how crappy the tire was performing with other teams
Won’t be surprised of an X’er created this meme. X’ers were raised on anti-government/conspiratorial rhetoric and because they were largely ignored, are full of resentment. Plus, X’ers basically grew up watching Trump pretend to be a tycoon on celebrity shows and The Apprentice.
I would encourage you to watch any MAGA parade, rally, or event. Jump on Twitter for second, if you can. But don’t stay long. Look at who makes up the ‘Proud Boys’. Or the people leading the protests against vaccine or mask mandates. Largely, they aren’t in their 60s or 70s. They’re in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
Focusing on ‘boomers’ is really starting to get a bit much on this site. You think they’re the problem right now? That they’re the ones pushing this kind of thing? God no - Gen X and Millennials are every bit as bad. And probably worse for at this point. I get that it’s depressing to confront the fact that it’s “our…
Makes sense, I suppose Max’s trajectory as a driver outweighed his actual performance at that point still. Especially with him winning his first weekend in a RBR car. I feel like Max and Daniel were pretty close most days, whereas now Lando and Daniel are pretty close only some days.
