My insurance skyrocketed when I moved across the river from Camden, NJ to Philadelphia, PA. Moving from, at the time, the most dangerous city in the U.S to your standard big city had the opposite effect on my insurance.
I’ve got a couple horror stories, that in hindsight, I’m thankful for. If the girl couldn’t see past that foible, then I’m glad I didn’t waste a lot of emotional energy on them.
I guess we’re just going to have split hairs on this. If I saw something destroy a loved one, I would have no interest in trying it, regardless of how it affects other people, but that's just me.

Not a false equivalence at all. The OP was the child of someone who suffered from an addiction had to deal with the consequences of their parents addiction. Which addiction doesn't matter. That's what you fail to grasp.

Living in a small condo in Boston, I love my sodastream. I haven't run the economics, but since I drink about 1.5 liters of soda water a night PLUS the amount of space I save in the fridge and my very modest pantry makes it worth while.
