I saw KP live during her Teenage Dream tour. She can sing.

I’m happy for Halsey because she seems like a decent human and she’s a much better singer than she gets credit for. Having said that, the new album is weak save a couple of decent songs (the one with the Fifth Harmony girl is the obvious standout for me). Badlands was the same concept done much better.
