They’re definitely the exception, but the idea that one cannot bicycle simply because it’s near or below freezing, or because there’s a bit of snow on the ground is a bit silly too.  One doesn’t even necessarily need a fat tire bike if the bike lanes are regularly cleared.  My neighbour cycles year-round with a

There were fun Toyotas before Akio Toyoda though

No amount of anything is going to make that a viable bike commute in 0°F.

For regular consumer use, chrome plating has pretty much disappeared here in CA. But the problem is there is still an industrial use for chrome plating, and it’s not clear if there is an alternative.

Sorry, I read your post backwards!

I’m amazed there are still so many shops doing chrome plating in CA since, as you said, we’ve known how toxic it is for a long time.

Any manufacturer with half a brain has been phasing hexavalent chrome out of their products for years already because they did know this was coming. Oh, and because it’s already been phased out in a lot of the world. The US is late to the party on this one, which isn’t too surprising (whatever, we do this sort of

OK ‘Cowboy Dan’:

Of course the two places aren’t comparable.  but 22 miles would be quite doable if you could leave your bike at one place and then take a tram to your place of work.  This isn’t going to happen anytime soon in your location.

It’s been said a million times: chrome don’t get you home.

Next thing you know, they’ll be banning cigarettes and telling us to eat kale. Give me a break! #asbestosgate #saveourinsulation #oldschool #AsbestosLi

Always fun to use this twice in a day:

Hey now, I owned a V6 RAV4 and it was a hoot - it was obvious to me when they were available that this would be the last time I’ll see something like that from Toyota.

I have so many of those, in multiple languages.

We get to do this when queries run, over in the forklift warehouse of data.

It’s an “If you know, you know” car. They’re not at all average to those who do.

FM4 for me was always the highlight of the series. I loved having the top gear presenters give out vehicle history on the cars, and I loved the way it had you go about the races.

I really hope their words come out to something tangible. I’ve been frustrated with the path motorsports has been on since 3, especially with how half baked some of the car details are in contrast to the shiny paint.
