You're right. I'm sure it won't be long before print posters go the way of film and the studios simply deliver a digital poster for the theater to display on LED flatscreens in the lobby.
One of our local theaters already has video "posters" which basically show clips from the trailer which eventually dissolve into the image from the print poster.
