I’ve always been a fan of making Iron Fist Japanese or Korean, and having the “K’un Lun outsider" angle coming from him not being Chinese. The tension of him not "belonging" is important, but doesn't HAVE to be from him being white.

My God, what a shit show this is.
The new Fist will begin his debut with Iron Fist #1 in February, and is expected to be a big deal. With one of the big selling points being that he’s Asian,
The new Kobo Sage also passes the USB-C port test with flying colors. Rest in peace, microUSB, minus the peace part—you deserve to suffer for what you put us through.
An especially galling omission because the Syfy series was actually pretty good for an adaptation. Whatever the various qualities of the David Lynch film (casting to die for, crazy lush sets, go broke for weird), it just wasn’t a very good adaptation of the source material.
Don’t forget the SyFy mini-series. This is the THIRD go around for filming Dune.
Hey Rob, would you consider not reporting on Heritage Auctions, given that they’re being accused of market manipulation and unethical business practices by your very own sister publication, Kotaku, and others.
It also amazes me that people are that shitty. Returning a game you beat and enjoyed sucks. I know you have to have systems in place to prevent that kind of abuse, but I wish people were just cool about it.
There is speech that is criminal in the United States already as well, so really not sure what you’re on about here.
Canada already has hate speech legislation. So ‘hate’ is already a well defined category. This is an expansion of existing laws on hate speech into the digital space. Also, let’s not forget that it would have to be proven in court that you did commit a hate crime - the punishment for said crime would be a fine. So no,…
With profits?
The NYT stories says the additional grades made no difference either way. The ranking difference in weighted vs unweighted remained.
This implied incredulity here seems bizarre to me:
Wealth isn’t taxed, income is taxed.
Just following the tax law that the people we elected put into place. Don’t like it? Change who you vote for. Problem is though, both Republicans AND Democrats that are willing and able to run for office are largely millionaires or more and want to also pay little to no tax. It’s fuck the middle class all around.
Because you don’t pay taxes until you realize the gains. Musk’s (and Bezos’) net worth can fluctuate by billions each day, but until it is liquid, it’s just numbers.
This is for the best. I liked the actors they cast and pretty much everything set in the past really popped, but the overall story was like an impacted bowel movement. It was too slow, painful, strained in places, and in the end, all you were left with was a pile of crap.
I’d consider giving Superman & Lois a chance. So far, Season 1 has been the best made-for-television Superman story in my book. It’s well acted and well written. It doesn’t have that “CW Look” to it. It feels like they spent money hiring a good cinematographer and it shows. It’s the only thing I have appointment…
Ehhh.... Elite isn’t doing great at the moment either. :(
