The main problem with Orion is that it just won't capture the public's imagination because it LOOKS like the old Apollo era stuff. And with waning public interest, America's politicians aren't going to push too hard for NASA funding.

First, this is from The Sun, so who knows if it has any bearing to the truth.

how about the dime (10c) being the smallest US coin?

If the bill is phased out, then the vendors are going to have to adopt it. That or lose custom.

Enthusiasm about what exactly? Some drunken idiot wasting time on the emergency 999 line that's reserved for, you know, emergencies?! I live in America, mate... don't go expecting too much to be different. I imagine this guy would have had an even less friendly response during the first call over here on 911.

Yesterday was the first day I've thought about buying a tablet. Mostly because, while I do like the idea of a portable, lightweight media consumption device (call it whatever you like) with a big-ish screen, I already have a laptop and don't want to spend laptop prices on an underspec-ed laptop sans keyboard. But at

"awesome tagpage system" my arse.

'"Windows Phone Seven Point Five." It's somehow mind numbing and yet not totally unexpected that chunky string of syllables is how you say the name of the new Windows Phone.' Such unnecessary negativity.

It is the world sport and Americans generally don't get it. Which is fine. I'd rather not have it turned into an ad break vehicle so the longer it stays a minority sport in the US, the better.

Not unless the pub manager read your tweet about wanting a beer and drove the pint 23 miles to where you were, no.

From everything I've read, yep.

Rich dude gets more free stuff. Heartwarming indeed.
