I guess that’s one way to spin it. At some point, every branch of government has to account for what it spends and our prisons are very cushy compared to other nations.

It isn’t the basis for it. She could have picked a non death penalty state to commit her crime. Her death is on her, no one else. She made choices with known, widely publicized and debated consequences.

Yup. They’d just skip the trial. That’s pretty much why there isn’t a death penalty in many countries. Justice happens much faster and the state has little to do with it.

Not really, he was willing to talk to the DA first and got a better deal. That’s the system and has been. I guess she should have looked into that and hired a better hit man.
