Luck certainly only divulged his decision after there was no more lingering doubt about it, but after being on the receiving end of this temper tantrum coming from the stands, I’m sure he’s actually glad to be retiring.
The only thing I can think of is that the author is making a distinction between the Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts. In that case it would be Manning then Luck.
There’s no reason to boo the guy. It’s not like he waited until the beginning of the season to retire after the Colts traded out of the first round and don’t have a backup plan at QB...
Try to think of another sport that has to deal with players not wanting to play it. This is only happening to the NFL, and all of the rule tweaks and happy penalty flag barrages they’ve concocted have not and will not curtail that exodus.

I understand your points and in many ways agree with them. I would argue though that the massive amount of information available these days one would either need to be targeted or randomly preyed upon for this to be a concern.
If you have to worry about tracking your spouse’s infidelity you might just want to get that divorce. “Tracking” in the sense I am using it in is knowing their location in lieu of having to place that call of “Are you still at work” or “Still at the store?”
