Have you checked out Carly Rae Jepson's 'Emotion'. Its got a lot going on and it's endlessly charming. Might be up your alley too, very catchy and 80s influenced without being 'retro'

I agree about representation in films in general - but in this case, I especially agree about representation in the wider context of empire, which I think is a more important and far more complicated concept. I would love to see more attention paid, cinematically, to the insanely far-reaching and non-white stories…
