mostly, "whats up" isn't the sun

no, like I said, just something more in the spirit of the original work. but I agree in general as well: the world doesn't need it right now really

I agree completely - it's just that hellboy is such a singular work and it has such a distinct style and tone. I felt like the movies missed most of that and we ended up with something goofy and lesser.

exactly. He didn't seem to really get behind the scope and tone of the source material.

I agree about practical effects looking good - they're def the way to go, usually. I would say that the movies look ok, but often
too "goofy" and over-the-top. But that's just my opinion. things got a little power-ranger-y on occasion.

..ish. I think Del Toro can do some great stuff, but the Hellboy movies were disappointing to me, even visually. I mean, not that he'd do it, but someone like Nicolas Winding Refn would do an awesome job. It should be weirder and scarier, in my opinion, with lots more blacccccckkkk

I like to joke about Cyclops telling a big Storm poem before using his powers like she does

I agree, and those movies weren't good (I thought anyway). Legion, for example, is better than the comics version (or at least the ones I've read). I'm not saying it has to be the same, but I looooove hellboy and the movies just didn't scratch the same itch. I guess, to me, it's about keeping true to the spirit of

Click, click BOOM

they were kind of a cool little band

Pre-Boy?

I'm actually ok with it. Hellboy movies were…cool… in that they existed, but they left a lot to be desired considering their source material. I liked a lot of the effects, the casting was good etc, but it never really captured the spirit of the comics (or the look).

this is the kind of news story where all we really need is that pic.

You're wise to avoid them then, because it's all to wall hawke

"hey bahr-bar-ah, the tawkin' boogah is juss like me!"

and he keeps it all in his neck pouch

Let's put aside that he's weirdly racist / annoying / useless etc for a second

whenever I see the mucinex booger, I like to imagine a dude from the Bronx who looks exactly like him watching the commercial and feeling sad that he's a big cartoon booger.

no…that's impossible!

pretty sure the JJ in JJ Abrams stands for Jar Jar. Like, 85%. so he's doing pretttttty well for himself, thankyou very much
