As someone who regularly carries around an extra V20 battery, let me tell it’s completely different than toting around a power brick.

That’s it. I don’t have to keep my G5 tethered to anything. It’s a 20 second process to go from a drained battery to 100%, and it comes at the cost of something smaller than three stacked credit cards.

They could have added IP68 and kept the removable battery, the Samsung S5 had both. True but there is something to be said for just swapping in a new battery and carrying just the phone and not a brick with a cord plugged into the phone. Hard to fit it all in your pocket or when on an airplane. I cannot change my battery so carry a brick which can be annoying to use at times.

This is disappointing, but I guess the market has spoken: we want boring slabs of glass, metal, and plastic.

I would much rather we save lives (avoiding funerals!) than worrying about having pretty ones. If you are more concerned about having an attractive corpse, that’s fine, but there’s no reason to give organ donations to people who aren’t willing to have the same generosity.
