Potato, potahto.

Pfft. You’ll be fine in anything from the 50s on up.

Anything post WW2 with an overhead valve V8 was designed to maintain 70MPH all the way across the USA on Eisenhower’s (new in 1955) Interstate Highway System. It’s when you get into the Malaise era and the 55MPH limit things get iffy. My first car could maintain 60MPH all day long, so it would need to stick to the

I drive a friends 1968 GTO many years ago on the highway. There was absolutely zero issues keeping up with traffic. My father’s 1970 VW Karmann Ghia OTOH could barely keep up at 65 mph.

With a hobby like that the goal isn’t to save money, it’s to outdo yourself.

There’s the answer.

The single seat Metro does kind of kick ass though.

going just above the minimum speed limit.

Nah, because he also provides us all with something amazing to gawp at. I think that driving a vintage car around is a public service.

I dunno, the “leaving some space between traffic” on the 405 doesn’t seem that egregious; it’s far better than the folks who will floor it at the first sign of a space and then slam on the brakes when the inevitable stop comes. In fact, I generally try to drive with some “buffer” in stop and go, leaving a bit of space

If you want this to stick, cutting their Z06 allocations isn't enough. Cut their trucks.

I’m 100% on board with bringing back meaty sidewalls and “normal” shifters.

I can understand changing the shifter design if it offered some kind of tangible benefit, but as in the Honda example, it takes up just as much console/dash space as a handle, but is more confusing to use. The dial ones are even worse.

Please, please, please give me one way. ANY legitimate way that the CX30 is better than the 3. You have forever to tell me how the X3 or the Q3 is ANY better than the sedan/wagon platforms they’re based on. They are not only ugly and suffer from worse handling, but their popularity has killed off wagons in America.

The Tahoe and Suburban used to be offered with barn doors which are really cool and solve the problem you describe :o)

This is BMW we're talking about here, no abuse is necessary.

If you abuse them properly, ALL engines go out with a bang.

Unions did not kill the airline industry transporting people killed the industry. What I mean by this is passenger transport has always sucked. It sucked on rails. It needs massive subsidies for cars.

The only reason non-union employers have similar wages and benefits to union employers is because they have to in order to draw the labor. That’s one of the side perks of unions: They keep other employers honest, too.
