It's the only place I've ever lived where I've met multiple people who are proud of never having been anywhere else and it's actually totally socially acceptable for them to say that.

I assume the writer is one of those people that equates the entirety of the U.S. with Manhattan? I can't think of anywhere else where the preschool process would be that ridiculous 10 years ago. So you could, y'know, consider all those other horrific, non-Manhattan places.

Do I go see a play that looks pretty bad from the promotional materials just because it has Desmin Borges in it?!?

The oyster part doesn't offend me. We get shrimp chips in Chinatown that are just fishy and umami-filled and addictive. But the charbroiled part—that seems to me like it would just taste burnt in chip form and I like my oysters raw, anyway. Mmm…burnt chips.

Neither of those were the best songs CEG's ever done, but I have to say "I Could If I Wanted To" hit my early-00's grunge, sometimes-I-like-to-pretend-I'm-badass sweet spot and "Heavy Boobs" was, well…quite accurate :-P

I….can't believe this is airing on network TV right now.

I'm actually home in time for CEG/JtV for once! Why did I not rush directly home from work when my class got out early so as not to miss the first 15 minutes?!? Where are my priorities?

Dammit… Southland always makes me want tacos.

I'm assuming it will happen on Jane the Virgin before it's over…

I'm in it! Public health professor-ing. In a way, finally, because it took me 5 years to get into medicine and 10 years to get out. But in a way, sooner than I expected because I thought it would be another 7-10 years before I could get a non-clinical, just-teaching-and-research position. Now is the scary

Right? The architect thing is a nice way to have him take after Kirsten, which was always one of the sweetest relationships on that show. But his backstory + rage issues + savior complex = total cop. Plus, then one day when NBC gets desperate enough, they'll give us a Law & Order franchise that's just him & Sandy

Rewatch-abuddies! I've been watching/rewatching, too. I watched most of the first season, part of season 4, and all of season 5 at the time, but I missed most of the middle and had never watched it all the way through. Such a good show.

I clicked on this, then clicked away to some other tab before it loaded. I have a bunch of tabs open on my browser right now because I'm putting together a lecture. As I was trying to go through the open tabs and clean up before I stop for the night, I clicked upon this. I was very confused. And frightened. And

Oooh…this one is a little easier to cheer than Gussie's racist uncles (sorry Gussie).

I love Dave Malloy, Rachel Chavkin, Gelsey Bell, Nick Choksi, et al already associated with this thing, but I'm gonna need him to cast Rebecca Bunch as Fish #3.

They've certainly said less coherent things. It could happen.

On the upside, at least we never saw Cruz do this.
