I don’t know the risks of Krown inhalation or contact, but the complete lack of safety gear made me itchy all over.

No, no, no. You will pay penalties to withdraw it early. Unless you aren’t planning to buy a house until you retire, don’t put it into a 401K. 

401k is NOT the place for a down payment. You will not be able to get that money back out before you retire. IRA is also a bad choice.

The real hack is leaving it at home so it can’t get lost or stolen. 

I don’t really rely on rewards for cash flow so I’m going to keep earning them (Chase Ultimate Rewards points, that is). When travel does start back up I imagine there will be amazing deals, so my current stash of points will be worth even more hotel nights or flights than had I converted them over to cash immediately.
