I get a sense of déjà vu with this episode, Clara (The Impossible Girl) had put herself throughout the Doctors' timelines - we have Bill putting herself throughout the Earth's history (via the head monk) to defeat the Monks, before that idea was overwritten by Bill putting her mother in her place.
