In New York? I haven’t been able to ski any trails around Chicago for more than one weekend for the last three years. When I took some vacation days in Quebec City a few years ago I really regret not taking my skis. They had a ton of snow and groomed cross country trails just outside the walls.

For a normal car I would think you’d need to turn down the torque a lot and have an RPM limiter to make a transmission mate properly.

I’d go with the Volvo as the V70 is probably the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven. No guarantee but they were also available with manual transmissions.
