If cars don’t have boobs, what are car bras for?
Was that filmed in Dutch Profile?
That is how electricity works. You have nominal output (~200W/m²), and you have typical insolation (5hrs/day). kW/h is a nonsense unit, unless you’re actually trying to measure throttle response. Voltage and amperage are irrelevant, since you’re going to have a power supply converting into whatever the battery wants.
Your numbers are correct, but your units are so bad....
Don’t people do this anyway to make sure they’re not going to have their door ripped off, or themselves get run over, by oncoming traffic?
Everywhere else in the world, we have this fancy thing called a side mirror.
He’s the leader of the Cult of the Donald.
They’re not even slow. They’re keeping pace with the actual left lane traffic.
That isn’t the left lane. That’s the HOV lane. Different beast, and you’re typically restricted on where you can enter and exit.
It doesn’t take that much mass to drop typical interplanetary radiation levels down to surface norms. When you’re talking a spinning station that large, your structural mass will do most of the job.
Government? No. That’s just how typical small-minded accountants think.
Back in the early days of flight, the co-pilot was extra muscle to handle the heavy controls. Mechanical and electric assist have removed that need, but there’s still simply lots to do in the cockpit. Navigation, coordination with ATC, monitoring systems, having a second person there to share the workload reduces the…
I went up there decades back, and the only thing I can remember about it was opening up the bathroom stall at some restaurant, finding someone splatter-shat all over it, and deciding I could wait until I got back to Durango.
Yes. The road. The bicycles should have been on the road, and not the shoulder. Even though they’re being “courteous” to the cars, and moving over to allow them to pass, they should have given themselves far more margin, and not forced themselves into such an abrupt maneuver.

I agree that solar cells will not make a dent in the power demands of this vehicle. I disagreed in that solar cells will never make a dent in the power demands of this vehicle. Between cell improvements and panel improvements, we’ve got maybe a 50% potential gain above current commercial panels (20% -> 30% efficiency).…
We’re getting there, though. Solar cell efficiency is much higher now than it was only five or ten years ago and will continue to improve.
