That article is great. Thanks for sharing it.

1. It's absolutely true that the vast majority of people are stupid and ignorant. And it's also true that the general public react strongly to the term 'socialist' http://www.gallup.com/poll/…. If they wouldn't even vote for one nominated by their own party, then that says a lot.

Bummer. Was Mxy delightful at all?

I wouldn't say always valorised. But the point is that Sherlock and Joan picked Gregson for being far better than average - so it makes sense that their department would be better than average.

Part of my thing with Mycroft is I mostly wasn't fond of almost anything they did with him, so that probably colored my whole take on things. And then, when I had hopes that they'd redeem it in the most epic way possible, they whiffed (I was hoping that rather than being an informant, he was actually basically running

We've never really had anything close to a bath in trauma, or sudsy, have we? Sure, it could easily go that direction, but it seems weird to get mad about a single episode a long time ago where almost nothing happened.

And for some that are procedurals…

I think the point of the powers-stealing was to break Wally out of his rut. Music Meister didn't need to keep anyone busy.

I think everything was about teaching lessons, all along. He trapped them, but told them how to get out. He drained their powers (and went to "rob a bank"), but only so he could get Wally out of his rut. And he sent Mon-el and Iris to save them

Nah, if it was Barry, he'd be taking your side, saying that he deserves far worse for all that he's done… :p

I was wondering about that - I realized his whole schtick was fixing people with mental hangups. The "bank robbing" was to get Wally back in the game.

But wasn't that before Flashpoint? (I can't remember…)

Wait, Mxy appeared on Supergirl? I may need to go watch that.

It can be improved with more Marcus Bell, but it's not a critically lacking element

That's interesting to me. I'm almost the opposite. I never paid that much attention to her before, but I think she's great in this. To me, it seems like the missing emotional moments are because they weren't written into the script. Almost every time that I can think of that she's given something to do, she nails it.

As far as Elementary goes, I agree. I think Joan's been shortchanged. I'm just not so sure Moffatt Watson is particularly better in how he's been handled.

@disqus_TiD9rQmZ7a:disqus @avclub-2d4195b6da6c06f3370980fe35d42291:disqus - it may not be specifically 90/10, but it's pretty heavily skewed. We had two major story arcs with Sherlock's family; Mycroft and Morland. Mycroft is canon, but they didn't do a particularly good job of sticking to that canon. Rather than a

Ritchie/Moffat took a while to give us much of anything with Watson. For the longest time, one of my biggest complaints was that Watson's role seemed to be to stand there and look befuddled while Sherlock did things.

Good point
