Why is this “weird” shit? This looks like some good upgrades to existing devices. The camera drone is a little off the wall, but as someone who now has a second home that I only visit part time, a camera drone actually might be something I would use. I have a single cam in the home now for security reasons, but a

they are prohibitively expensive

From one of the studies, right? Not mentioned anywhere in this article or did I miss it?

I understand the underlying cause, but the article and the studies don’t seem to include any consideration for respiratory issues caused by bad vape products.

This is generally a problem with most “review” systems whether it be Amazon, Yelp or Google. Even with verified purchases you don’t really know who the reviewer is and what their level of expertise is regarding the product.

Interestingly, no mention of the vaping issues going on in late fall 2019 and what connection they may have had with regards to people having respiratory illness at that time.

Well maybe not the local gas station but our small hardware store has them and so does our small grocery store and I live in a somewhat rural area. Home Depot, Costco and Lowes also carry pellets. So while not quite as common as charcoal it’s not like they are scarce. I mean, yeah, you have to plan ahead kind of like

Costco always has a ready supply of Traeger pellets. It’s a good mix of Cherry, Hickory and Maple. A good all-round blend. I’ve never had an issue finding pellets. Hell, you can order them to be delivered right to your door these days.

I agree that the (IBM) PC became popular because you could run the same software at home as you used at work. In the beginning that was more of a cost savings because you could just install the same software on multiple machines.

Over many long years the Windows PC has become as ubiquitous as the flat-screen TV.

Yes, the business world is different and does have a ton of odd-ball apps that people use. But most people don’t run Crystal Reports for home use and I’d say many don’t need a shipping application that integrates with an ERP system either.

I’d say if the article was titled, “Which platform is better for business” then

Dang, he just missed the 7-10 split on the porch columns.

They’ve been used interchangeably for months. Everyone knows what you mean when you say social distancing, that is stay 6 feet away.

I can’t speak to what it might or might not cost Roku to host an app on their platform. And, it’s not absolutely certain you won’t buy that app/sub through Roku. When I paid for HBO I did that via Amazon. Now I get free HBO through ATT but I could see where Roku might actually sell the subs and manage the monthly fee

That’s true. It’s really in everyone’s best interest to collaborate. Good for HBO and good for Roku.

Splitting hairs here. Most people understand physical and social distancing to be the same thing.

One might argue that some small developers are being helped by these platforms. That they might not have the resources or means to get their products to market and that while they are paying a fee they would pay more if they had to spin up their own storefront and payment processing.

Best buy does get a cut of that recurring revenue. They just get it in the form of a one time, upfront fee. My wife used to sell cellular and she got a cut of the phone sales and if the customer signed up for a 2 year contract she got a one time payment based on the cellular carrier.

If Roku or any storefront is

So HBO and NBC are small indie developers?

What makes you think MS doesn’t get a cut of revenue for apps sold through the MS App Store? Every store makes money off of someone else’s products. Do you think WalMart or your local Department Store doesn’t make money off the Levi jeans you buy from them? Why shouldn’t Roku be entitled to make something off the sale

Do you cook on an outdoor grill? If so then you know that the smoke can become concentrated depending on how the wind is blowing and in which direction. Try sitting around a campfire and tell me the smoke is evenly dispersed into the air. It doesn’t happen.

All I’m saying is that air circulation occurs in a similar
