Well, I would argue it’s not necessarily a choice between life and death because you’re going to kill them eventually (in the case of death row). I guess it feels like you’re denying someone a chance at redemption and a means to save their own life while maybe saving some other lives as well.

But I appreciate your

Where was I defending any “shitty work conditions”? I’m asking valid questions about how this person got infected. We saw last weekend the hordes of stupid New Yorkers flocking to city parks failing to take proper precautions or social distance properly. But hey, just because one of them might work at Amazon and might

I don’t know about that. If I were on death row and had a chance to commute my sentence why wouldn’t I want that? Don’t they also have the right to choose for themselves? I get your point but doesn’t it seem a bit odd to say, oh sorry, because we think you might feel compelled to participate we’re not going to give

No dumber than the next guy. Do you have a point to make or are you incapable of dialog?

Why not offer the chance to be a test subject to prisoners? Perhaps people either with life sentences or even death sentence convictions? Maybe the offer is if you survive you get off death row? Or maybe if you’re in for life you get some cushy cell and special privileges? In other words offer it to someone who may

Yes, that is the problem and the likely reason some of these outbreaks have happened in nursing homes. But, that’s no excuse. If you can’t wash hands, wear masks, social distance then you should not be working there. If these people were charged with negligent manslaughter it might change some bad habits going on

Is it? I don’t think so. In fact I think it’s more important now than ever, especially as we start to relax restrictions on what we can do and where we can go.

The question is what is the level of risk? You risk your life every day you go to work whether there’s Covid or not. You risk getting influenza from someone on the bus you rode to work and having that turn into pneumonia and you die. You could get into a car accident and die. You could trip on the sidewalk and crack

That’s true. If some employee wasn’t wearing PPE or if employees weren’t following social distancing guidelines while on the job you can’t necessarily fault Amazon for that.  But I do think it’s useful to understand if the person who got infected got it while at work or by doing something outside of their workplace if

I don’t agree that there is no answer. That is what contact tracing is and it has proven effective in other countries. As for MTA workers, if they bothered to do contact tracing they would have some idea as to where the virus infection originated.

Reporters have an obligation to provide facts and data, not suspicion

It’s all good, just trying to understand.

My personal opinion is that people use the term tablet incorrectly when referring to a Surface. It’s a laptop. A really thin laptop. An iPad or an Android device is a tablet. I differentiate by the OS. Windows, which is touch-enabled, is not a touch-first device. It works best with a keyboard and mouse. iOS or iPadOS

I’m guessing, but after rereading is a few times I think you’re right. There were screens for to and from China but not other countries. Either way it’s a confusing point.

We also have evidence from earlier in the outbreak suggesting that these screenings simply aren’t very useful.....

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any BT product that didn’t at least give a notification that it was pairing or required some button combination to activate pairing mode. Many require some acknowledgement that it’s OK to pair. If I didn’t have any of that I would have checked the settings.

When you pair the Apple pencil,

The New Trent looks OK but it is BT which is a negative for me and on top of that it uses what looks like a USB mini charging cable. And that’s a double negative for me. My English teacher always taught me not to never write a double negative sentence.

It’s a really bad mistake, it makes you wonder if the author really used the product. “The Bluetooth Magic Keyboard instantly pairs to the iPad Pro...” Uh, did it? Could you see it paired when you went into the BT settings?

Yeah, I was reading the article and I’m like wuh, what?

When the oceans rise up we will need somewhere to live. Floating condos!

I agree there has to be some effort on the part of the employer but I think we all know that masks and gloves are no guarantee and in fact are pretty useless if you constantly touch your face after touching a surface that could be contaminated.
