No shit. I am assuming the trackpad is something similar to their magic mouse or trackpad. You would almost be better off getting one of those at a much lower cost. The only downside I see is the magic mouse uses a lightning charging connector, which wouldn’t be a problem for the regular iPad but it’s kind of a bummer

Well, ridiculous pricing aside, if you already have the pencil and a keyboard you may not want to repurchase those just to get the new hardware.

When you first go to select the Magic Keyboard on the site it states $349 (ouch)

We have several friends who own breweries in our area. We are a small community outside of Seattle so we don’t have millions or even 10s of thousands of people to rely on for support. Our community is really stepping up to help us as we are trying to help them as well. It looks like the State is going to allow us to

My wife and I own a restaurant. I work full time in IT. Naturally we were surprised by the forced closures over the past few days. We have gone to a delivery/take-out model but we will still lose a ton of bar revenue.

What I find ironic is that we can shut down small mom and pop restaurants that serve may 100 people a day but we can send thousands of people to work the assembly line at Boeing where they’ve had 5 confirmed cases. Not to mention that airports are still open and handling tens of thousands of people every day.

The quote I posted was one of the first statements from the SG. As I said, it was poorly worded, imho. Now the statements have been expanded and clarified and that is a good thing. Yes, hoarding is a bad thing but I feel the responses could be better prepared.

Honestly I’m not sure. I checked my account and didn’t see the discount applied. It may be there I just didn’t see it.

That is what some people (doctors) are saying. I’m not entirely certain about that though. If touching your face is a means of transmission then covering your face seems like a good idea. At the very least it may prevent you from inadvertently touching your face.

He said “They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if health care providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk!”

^This. I have been saying something similar ever since the Surgeon General put out that message saying masks don’t work but we need mask for healthcare workers. I have to believe they work on some level. They may not stop all means by which you can become infected but they have to provide some protection.

You’re so witty and thoughtful. I’m glad you speak for the known universe. I’m sorry someone pissed in your Cheerios, I hope your life gets better because if all you have to do is come one here and try to insult me your life must suck something terrible. Buh-bye

Must you be so profane? I am not speaking about Verizon, you brought that up. I am speaking generally about managing usage in order to prevent brown-outs or network congestion. I am speaking about the dichotomy of wanting high-quality, unlimited bandwidth networks for dirt cheap prices. You should know that if you

Being a utility would not prevent them from having tiered plans. Did you not read the article I linked about power companies doing precisely that?

And yet people want to classify them as utilities. The point still stands, power companies have to deliver power to meet demand, carriers have to deliver network capacity to meet demand. There is a cost to delivering either of those services and any increase in demand will generally require additional infrastructure

I didn’t say it was scarce. It’s not scarce, it just has to be paid for. Throttling is about cost management and cost management is about profits. No one is denying that. It’s no different than the power company charging more if you go above a certain usage. It’s meant to control usage so they don’t have to build out

I understand the difference but the end result can be the same, to the customer. That is a slow down in performance. Throttling is a more coarse grained mechanism but it’s done for the same reasons and that is to minimize traffic on the network. Bandwidth and capacity are not infinite nor free which is why I think a

Not sure what happened, but I checked this morning and didn’t see the notation for the discount that I had seen before. Maybe it’s still there but I can’t find it.

Call it what you want but you know that a network has to be designed to handle the workloads and load balancing is necessary, unless you’re willing to spend the money to build out more capacity. If every customer, or even a majority of customers, got on all at once and started running high bandwidth workloads someone

I never noticed that. Now I will, lol.
