I’m passionate about being fair. You can’t slam Amazon for not being like Microsoft when their businesses are different. If you can justify making an unfair comparison here, where else will you justify making an unfair comparison?

Amazon made $10B in profit in 2018. I doubt that grew by 10x in 2019.
I’m sure as you know that throwing money at any problem will only get you so far. I see Amazon ahead of the curve compared to many other companies (see my other post). Comparing them to MS isn’t really a fair comparison.
Many of the countries in the list I mentioned are small, probably smaller than Amazon in terms of carbon footprint. Likewise I listed some 80+ companies, many of them quite large, that will be 10 years BEHIND Amazon in becoming carbon neutral.
Not really. Businesses are regulated and while they can try and sometimes do exert their influence they are not always successful. Case in point, Amazon’s HQ in NYC. Furthermore they have made investments in facilities and it’s not necessarily easy to retrofit those facilities to make them more environmentally…
Right, they don’t necessarily have the resources of a nation so why do you expect them to do more?
To be carbon negative, yes. Many countries are saying they can’t be carbon neutral until 2050 so why do you think Amazon can go negative in 1/3 of that time?
That’s particularly true of Amazon, which set a goal of carbon neutrality by 2040. Compare that to Microsoft—which announced it would carbon negative by 2030
And of course the world’s largest historical emitter, the U.S
First, my apology for misunderstanding your intent. That said, it’s really hard to know what you meant or what your intention was. You could interpret your statement as an affirmation that with age you become more financially savvy. Or the complete opposite. Given the regular bashing of “greys” and “Boomers”, as…
Or, maybe, they could actually state what they mean. Why is it you have to be so condescending? Is it because you’re just an irrelevant troll?
When one posts an wholly ambiguous comment one should expect that no one understands what you meant. Be specific, your comment was as indeterminate as could possibly be.
Umm no, you clearly have no right to life otherwise we would not approve of abortion. Secondly, the courts have already decided the that government nor the police are tasked with ensuring your “right to life”. See Warren vs DC, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia
Apparently it’s people without a clue season. Sometimes jokes are hard to understand.
I think you mean Obama’s Blackberry. But good try.
LOL, we’re not scared of anything. We have our money, earned by hard work and not sitting around the computer all day complaining about the “old folks”. Bring on the girls, I like ‘em and ain’t afraid of them one bit.
You don’t get money with out age, unless you inherit it. As has been evidenced by the number of lottery winners who go broke after 5 years simply having money doesn’t mean shit. Those with the experience of working for and earning money are far more likely to keep that money. The concept that age makes you somehow…
All those kids bailing on school to fight for a healthy climate will be deciding who runs the world by the end of the decade.
Before you start smack talking respondents you might consider that a word can be used in different ways to mean similar but not exactly the same thing. In other words, context, is everything. Something can be antiquated but not obsolete even though the words are synonyms. For example, I have an antiquated Colt…
Maybe you should stop seeing negativity where there is none. I clearly stated that the 2% reduction is something to celebrate especially in light of the simple fact that other countries are increasing. You accused me of not wanting to make the planet a better place, which is no where to be found in anything I wrote.…
