Why? What logical reason is there to make a cash payment when you could use a traceable and convenient electronic method? I’m asking a legit question. I know why some people like cash transactions today, and frankly it’s wrong. Many of them want to avoid taxation with cash. What other reasons would a person have for

Back then they did because 1) people who wanted alcohol still got alcohol and 2) by making that alcohol available, criminal organizations were able to rise in power. Plus the Federal government never met a tax opportunity they didn’t like. Sure, we’ll bring back booze, oh with a little tax added in to help clean up

Can we at least get an updated release date for the Galaxy Fold before we start hearing about future stuff?

The Internet was fine as long as it was a way to share pr0n. Once you let politics, news and religion in it was game over.

This is true. Though as we have seen these services change their programming on a somewhat regular basis. It makes the process a continual one in some cases.

Sounds good to me.

That could be one explanation. I suspect that, like many people, their interest may have changed by the time the get to college. Could be for lots of reasons.

Not sure how my “interest” are being tailored.

I think you and I are saying the same thing. It’s the group dynamic that is more valuable. Sure it’s made up of individuals but the data on any one individual is less valuable. Not zero, but less.

Understood. I was just suggesting that with dedupe technology you would likely not hit your caps even if you had to reseed. Videos and music don’t dedupe particularly well but other files do.

Oddly, one of the studies I read about (a cursory read I will confess) seems to show more interest at the High School level and declining very quickly after that. The study indicates that in High School 47% of the interest in science and tech are women, it drops when it comes to advance placement and then drops

First I would look at ways to reduce the backup traffic, like using de-duplication technology. You’re probably sending the same data over and over to your backup storage. Also, how often do you convert videos? I get that you will go over your limit with something like that but is that really a frequent thing? You do

Even knowing all that about an individual doesn’t seem particularly valuable to me. Sure you may figure out that I respond positively to pictures of women in blue hats, mouthing the word prunes. But to tailor a campaign just for me seems expensive for the return on investment. If you can find thousands of people like

That seems like a lot of games.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Knowing that I went to xyz web site and looked at abc picture or product for 3 minutes is mostly worthless. Knowing that 3 million people went to that web site and looked at the same picture/product for 5 minutes, and spent an average of $35/visit. Now that might be worth something

Since you seem to be knowledgeable on the subject, I’m wondering what’s the best way to see what your lost or dropped packet rate looks like? I notice the occasional “rubber-banding” during FPS games. It’s only started recently and I’m trying to figure out if it’s my side or perhaps something in the game causing it.

Comcast is rock solid here. I’ve been in this house for 6 years now and can only think of one outage we’ve had in that time. Otherwise, it just hums along.

How many games a month do you download?

We are a family of two and rarely go over 300G. I work from home and we both watch streaming video most of the time, if we’re watching TV.  I think you are definitely at the high end of usage.
