“something of a land grab against local infrastructure, like telephone poles, where these wireless nodes will be connected,”

Does that really matter? Back then you had telephones and radios which sped up the communication so officers could apprehend criminals much faster. We have computers that make looking up the license plate so much faster. Maybe we should have the police ride horses and only be able to use regular mail service to

I find this somewhat hilarious. If the company was tracking firearms no one would be complaining. They would say “If it saves one life, it’s worth it”

Or how about put UK in? You know the UK has video cameras all over the place.

“sanctuary city”

Well, I think she needs a plan but that plan doesn’t have to be the mundane 8-5 grind that the rest of us do.

Precisely. I always tell my single friends, look at the mom. That’s what your future wife/girlfriend is going to look like.

It depends on what you want to do but college has never equaled success, per se. You need college if you want to be an engineer or a doctor, lawyer etc. If you want to be a fashion designer, vlogger, Internet personality, actor etc it’s not as necessary.

I think he means the phone was 3 months old when it went into the water. Not that it went into the water and 3 months later it died.

Except all those scratches and pits on my car’s windshield aren’t that noticeable and don’t block my view of the road. On the iPhone those scratches could be much more apparent and cause poor display quality if there are enough of them.

I appreciate your thoughtful reply, though I don’t fully agree with some of your assertions. I live in a place that is not even an actual “town”. We live in an unincorporated area, have about 2000 residents and have 3 banks/CU, multiple ATMs and the nearest town is about 5 miles away with even more banks and ATMs.

Yeah, I don’t know who was the first to do it, someone will probably tell us, but ever since they rebooted the comic universes (and they all have pretty much done this) there’s no one universal timeline that explains everything.

I don’t necessarily agree with your summary. Sure, banks charged for ATM withdrawals and one could argue that this was to pay for the convenience of being able to get your money from thousands of locations across the country not to mention the cost of installing and managing ATMs. And you may not realize this but not

Probably because he was in the middle of an interview and didn’t have time to really think it out. The real answer here is that no one had considered this point and so no one had reasoned out an explanation. There’s probably a lot of that going on in the MCU. For example, where were the X-men?

I think you nailed it. It wasn’t an emergency until it was.

What’s wrong with ATMs? You need cash you can get it any time day or night. You want to get rid of ATMs so banks will hire more tellers? What will you do in the middle of the night when you need cash?

True but I’m sure I can find something with more similarities than not at a lower price point. As I mentioned you can get a Surface, generally considered a decent machine, for less.

You must go to shitty self checkouts because the one we have at the grocery will allow you to select your fruit or vegetable and then you put it on the scanner and it weighs it and charges appropriately. No muss no fuss.

Wow that was a long way to make an invalid point. Sorry no, self check out is great.

Before it gets to Clinton-era Earth, Captain Marvel throws us into one of those long-running interstellar wars that always seem to be going on in the far corners of the galaxy.
