Disorderly conduct my ass. This should be a criminal civil rights violation, and Max should be prosecuted for that. Any law enforcement officer who passively allows such violations of civil rights to occur should be permanently stripped of any law enforcement authority at the very minimum.

I don’t doubt his views are shared in that office.  Usually people with law degrees are a bit more discrete with their racism in public forums.

That’s a lot of words to describe a mediocre soccer announcer.  The best thing I can say about him is that he meets the expectations I had for Fox at this World Cup.

How does someone stupid enough to post this shit in a way that it can be linked back to them ever get a job in a DA’s office? What’s the screening process here? If you’re not smart enough to not do shit like this, or at least not do it anonymously, how are you smart enough to trick someone into hiring you?

If I ordered takeout, and someone from the restaurant followed me outside, called me out by name, and cursed at me while giving the double freedom rockets, I wouldn’t eat the food, either.

Kimi drove a great race. Sky’s “race control” team initially said the lap 1 incident was on Hamilton for not leaving Kimi enough room. The replays I saw didn’t seem conclusive enough to merit the time penalty, but I might have missed the best angles. It made the race more interesting in any event.

Should have clarified, in the minority among the Jalopnik commenters. I understand F1 isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I would expect most fans of the series would have been thrilled with the race today.

No argument there. I like F1, but they obviously have some glaring issues with competition. I do think it’s been a little better this year, but again, that’s not exactly high praise. I thought today’s race was good by any standard.

I’m evidently in the minority here, but that was a great race. It had plenty of drama, strategy, overtaking... what else could you ask for? Of course F1 has problems, but they put on a terrific show today. The last 10 laps were as fun as it gets in F1.

I would say anyone who didn’t enjoy the race today should probably give up on F1. Between the drama with Hamilton and the 4 car shootout at the end, today was this iteration of F1 at its best.

Trotter has done a commendable job of keeping the Gawker spirit alive, and I’m sure he’ll continue to carry that flag wherever he goes next.  He had a very large hand in making Gawker great, and it really sucks that he’s leaving.  I really miss Gawker.  And I’ll really miss Trotter.

Caity Weaver is a goddamn national treasure.

Extraordinary is a word he thinks makes him sound more intelligent, probably because it’s long and not easy for him to spell.  I’m sure he picked it up off of Roy Cohn in the 70s.

It’s a beautiful insult when directed at a man, although I’m still pretty hesitant to use it for a woman.

Yeah, read was definitely not the correct term.  I do believe he was kept abreast of the NY tabloids, probably by an aide, since they occasionally covered him.  But he probably skipped anything to do with crime, politics, economics, etc.

Wasteman is one of my favorite insults I’ve picked up from British boxing twitter.

My man Earlonne coming through with the jelly.  Love me some Ear Hustle.

I don’t doubt he’s isolated enough to have not heard of them until recently. But it’s pretty astounding nonetheless, considering they’re in pretty much every metro area on the east coast. They definitely have a presence in NY, so you’d think he would have read about them in the Post or the Daily News at some point.

Not yet, but for someone as laughably corrupt as him, it’s definitely coming.

Exactly.  Those “media outlets” only exist because there’s a large appetite for the shit they’re pushing.  Telling people what they want to hear isn’t the same as brainwashing.
