Thank you, sir. Yeah, I was actually a lil bummed to see that the A class wasnt as “budget” as they had it hyped to be... Biggest Merc dealer in Denver only has 3-4 CLA250 models and they are all, i think, marked UP to $43K-ish.

Every dealership near me (80215) has an A-class 220 (CLA250 is about $43K) for at the very least $41K + D&H. Base GTI for $25K. Autobahn GTI is about $32K. So, for price comparison, you should be looking more at a Golf R at $42K. And to compare a 250 to a R is a fool’s errand.

I personally don’t think a 30% price difference is even cross-shopping... Basic ass GTI - $25K or less, CLA - $35K at least.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that they don’t drive the same at all. One is a basic proven platform with a cult following and tons of aftermarket support, the other is a hairdresser or office manager’s emblem with wheels.

Buy one in Chile (if they do end up selling them there) with a spare one of everything and then drive the Pan-American Highway through the Darien Gap. It’s THAT easy!
