To everyone bringing up Waze - I love the app and I use it on my iPhone but I think this article is looking for apps with 'offline' maps.

Everyone is used to $1 and $2 apps. But then again, these guys are assholes. After we pay $50, they want more of our money for traffic and gas prices etc.

LTE isn't going to save you if cell towers get damaged or if you are in a bad coverage area. Offline maps have saved me many times. The fact that I didn't have to pay for it makes doubly sweet. That is true. But you can easily do 50 miles on those without having to go through this hardship trying to fix a tire on a winter night. I would rather pay someone $15 to fix it.

I think people should just learn to put on the spare. Most people I've have seen on road are just sitting round for someone to come save them. I hate that half the people don't even know where to put the jack on and other half don't know they have one in their car.

My 4S works with unlimited plan. Try resetting the network settings.

Try calling your email from the phone. I have a 4S on unlimited plan and face time works now.

My unlimited iPhone 4S plan now has face time over 3g. Just tried it. I had reset the network settings yesterday for another reason. Maybe others should try it too.
