Well Patrick.
Well Patrick.
I hate to break this to you, but he’s not flirting. Teachers/professors always seem like they’re flirting with everyone because they’re friendly and engaging and we rarely encounter that except when people are flirting with us.
This is still the best academic joke.
“I’d do anything... *anything*... to pass this course.”
Counterpoint: Dressing nicely might score you a free upgrade (but very likely won’t), while dressing comfortably is a sure bet.
Next week’s op-ed:
That is, in fact, how you get ants.
If someone is lying when there is really no reason for something like this, you know that this is not the first time and probably not even the biggest lie they have told.
I didnt even know they were together. HOW DO I PROPERLY GRIEVE THIS?!
A friend described another friend’s child’s Hebrew school behavior as “Everybody LOOK AT ME! WHY ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT ME!?” Same with these two?
For the longest time, I genuinely believed Elan Musk to be a brand of perfume.
I dunno my friend, 3 square meals and a roof over your head is more than some full time working people can afford these days...
What do all these people do with video game tie-ins like the Pip Boy once they’ve bought one? Does it sit in a display case near their console? Do they resell it on eBay for a quick turnaround profit?

Couldn’t you technically get by just fine without any one single employee for 2-3 weeks? If you relied on every and any singular person to keep an entire company running, and a two week hiatus would halt operations . . . wtf kind of company are you running?
A 3 week experiment to see the value of someone’s work output is shitty science. In the short term, other people may be able to take up the slack. But you may not see longer term costs in terms of misscheduled appointments, small annoyances that build up over time, miscommunications that didn’t have to happen, etc.
This is what he thought he did. What he actually did was fail to take into account his own biases. If it were a true experiment, it would have required an unbiased third party to do this analysis. I also tend to believe his wife, based on what I know of him (gee, he’s been given to hyperbole I think once or twice!)…
I believe the biggest breakthrough was the ability to interpret "conversational" English. Jeopardy didn't rephrase any questions for Watson, the computer had to decipher the sometimes cryptic questions and figure out what the questions was really asking. I'm sure we've all had experiences where we searched Google…
I'm guessing that it's partially loading times. When you load in a ton of information into any computer it typically takes a good long time to sort through it all looking for a single bit of info, but Watson was able to find that information in it's databases faster than a human could think of it. Of course once you…
