Can you blame them? I don’t remeber ever reading a review of the Migrae that didn’t shit on the car. Maybe it was that bad, in which case it’s not a big loss. That said. it’s depressing to think of how much it costs to get into even the cheapest new car in America these days. With this and the Nissan Versa going away,…
It’s a shame. Mirage was the only car left that could remind you what the 80s bargain basement econo penalty box felt like. It’s like that old joke, you know, “The food at this place is really terrible, and such small portion, too.”
Every vehicle on sale in the US today that is not an EV should be a PHEV. Every single one. There is no excuse for a modern car or SUV to get less than 50 miles per gallon, and there is no excuse for a full-size truck to get less than 30. It is trivial for a modern PHEV to have 25 miles of electric-only range with…
Mandatory Inspections.
I guess for big states its not feasible but in Delaware our DMV has inspection lines, we just drive up and DMV employees perform a safety inspection (lights, wipers, windows, etc) then pull up and stop on the brake testers, hookup OBD for emissions and you are done. 10 minutes tops and you are good to go.
I will be curious to hear what happens to the left over stock. Fisker took over an old BMW Dealership near my house (that used to be a circuit city for those wanting a chuckle from the past). Last month they had about 20-30 cars on the lot. I drove by a few days ago and there are only like 4 visible from the freeway -…
I have found that the used car market is slow to drop pricing in the midwest anyway. In looking for a couple kinds of vehicles, prices are still 30% too high for me given the miles and condition. I’m not buying as a result.
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex will all revoke your ability to accept credit cards for surcharging for credit card transactions, with very rare exceptions.
I totally get this, but some stations have credit upcharges that are just ridiculous. At one place near my office, they charge like 20-25 cents a gallon - for credit or debit. To get the cash price, you actually have to walk up to the register and pay cash. That’s just plain ridiculous. They’re located right next to…
Nice , in theory. I’m assuming you refuse to accept any rewards from your credit card provider, right?
The buyer is probably a New York City resident, who does pay 8.8% tax on purchases. That’s almost certainly legitimate. You pay the tax based on where you live and where you are going to register the car. And they know all the tricks, so if you’re going to try and register it in NJ, you better have all your…
I simply avoid those gas stations that charge extra for Credit card use. Most of the time I fill at Costco/BJ’s anyways but we have plenty of stations that don’t charge extra and are cheaper or on par with the Cash price at those other stations. While traveling, I try to avoid them but its part of the cost of my trip…
So just say “no”. Every toddler knows how to do it - channel your inner 2yo. I am VERY upfront with these guys - “I am not buying ANY extras, you can save your breath even telling me about them”. Plus “I have my own financing that you are welcome to beat, and no, I won’t tell you what my rate is other than that it is…
As a National guy, the best thing about them is the Emerald Aisle.
Since it’s Hertz, call the police on them.
Remember when there was only a ten cent difference between each tier of gas? Now it’s 40-50 cents per gallon.
An all electrical Jag? What could go wrong?
