I’d call this a risky bet. On the one hand a used Model 3 is good way to get a decent performing EV on the Tesla charger network. On the other hand it’s Hertz so there’s a very real possibility of being pulled over and held at gunpoint because they reported the car stolen.

Recently in Tampa, reserved a regular rental car. I arrive, and there’s a line. 20 minutes later they announce:

Those Teslas with 50K-100K on them were not normal daily rentals, as those cars would NEVER get that many miles put on them. Those are cars that were in the Hertz *rideshare* rental program. Which is probably most of the Tesla fleet at this point. I don’t know if that is better or worse than normal daily rentals.

There’s a word for gluing back together an Italian car.  That word is “Upgrade”.

Hey GM, you’re full of crap.

No it’s completely because they want the subscription for updates. Otherwise they’d have an app that you can download map updates from your phone through bluetooth.

Facebook market place is a mess. Almost as bad as craig’s list. Post an ad and the ratio of attempted scams to legit potential buyers is 4:1.

Enragement culture has just taken over.

Prior to this I was in the train of thought that Hyundai had really turned things around. They were making really cool looking cars. The quality was a lot better. Maybe a cheaper alternative to Honda and Toyota.  After this? No way I would ever trust one of these because if they made millions of engines that

I like Toyotas, but hate Toyota dealers. Most of them are greedy pigs...

I have lost track, is this the incident that fox news spent days calling a terrorist attack?

A phev uses 1/4-1/5 of the battery of a full electric. It can provide 90% of the daily use as full electric.

Imagine how many of these ford could cobble together if the lightning and mach e weren't soaking up all the battery capacity

I cant imagine losing nearly a grand on a sale price, mere minutes from a final sale, based on a flying mammal sailing in from Borneo, then ghosting the scene with a “who, me?” look. Bambi hits any other car, the guy’s a grand richer. Oh dear lord....

You know, if you want to reduce deer collisions, moving or otherwise, then we need more large predators to control their numbers. More wolf and bear reintroductions, and population expansion where they are present. It is what keeps their populations down to reasonable levels.

My wife is all toyota all the time. If I could walk into a deal lot today and get a Sienna Prime with the $7500 tax credit and a Prius Prime (also with the credit), I would be seriously considering playing with my financing to do so. I don’t like the Sienna looks, but it’s a perfect fit for what I need and I love the

I think there’s possibly a few things going on here.

I had a 2021 RAV4 hybrid ordered then they announced the Prime, cancelled the hybrid contacted Toyota corporate and shockingly they actually hooked me up. Whatever options, color and dealer I wanted it shipped to. I paid MSRP for the first time ever but it was considered a good price. With the tax credit it was just

Maybe. But it’s still pretty tough to get any PHEV. The Ford dealer we went to last week had a half dozen Mach-Es available, but there was a wait list for Escape PHEVs. Similar situation with Hyundai.

As pointed out elsewhere, that is simply a side effect of low supply of Toyota PHEVs, not necessarily higher demand. For example, the RAV4 prime sold 18,567 units last year in US, the MachE sold 39,458 units.
