Once upon a time I was driving in the center lane in heavy traffic through some curves and suddenly in front of me I saw something that looked like a strip of cardboard 6' long and 4" wide twisting/twirling/bouncing into my lane. I couldn’t swerve and it was just cardboard, so I braked and tried to drive over it.

But would it get stuck in David Tracy’s yard?

The regular 1989 944 had the 2.7 with an 8v head. It was just bigger than its predecessors and had a bit more torque. It was the last year of the Non-S, Non-S2, and Non-Turbo cars.

I concur. I got so excited after the rave reviews on this thing, and I cannot get it to cut my hair at even a fair-trim level. I’ve read the instructions, charged it fully, kept it at the correct angles, gone against the grain and it just does not get through the hairs, particularly the ones on my chin.

You can totally get a full sized road bike in the back of a Matrix without taking a wheel off! Drop the rear seats, crank the handlebars of the bike 90 degrees and chuck it in driveline side up.

A lot of it comes down to how deliberately they’re driving. How much space/following distance they give the car in front of them. Lane discipline, are they choosing where they are positioning their car? Lane changes, are they assertive vs. hapazard/slow.

They do say it has a low range transfer case, but also that it’s a pure concept.

I’m torn. Right now I’ve got a Tacoma for when I need a bed and actually 4x4 capabilities and a Matrix for when I need better mileage and know I won’t be offroad. A couple of SUVs have come close to getting me into one vehicle recently,

I’m driving a 1998 Tacoma(4cyl, manual, 4x4) that I bought with 223k on the clock. Previous owner had it for 200k of those with receipts for everything he had done. I put it all into a spreadsheet and you can see a lot of regular maintenance in there alongside a few big pieces(PS Pump, Head Gasket, Radiator).

I had a four door sidekick that I LOVED. It did feel like a tissuebox on a pretty decent chassis, and there was one too many times I saw the shadow of Jesus while driving it.

I want to point out that in Oregon metro areas, we already have to get our cars through an emissions inspection every two years. A mechanism to remove polluting cars is already in place and working.

I love my ‘98 Tacoma so this really bothers me.

Reminds me of the old Army of Darkness stories which made me look at my bank balance with a raised eyebrow and start plotting its demise.

NA 944.

I don’t think that they’re as hard to work on as people make them out to be. It’s just that the time, and cost, and reward for keeping up with the maintenance can really quickly and totally eclipse the value of the car.

My FIL gifted us his first sports car, bright yellow ‘87 944. Even has the LSD option. It’s pretty

Loved seeing them at PIR when Panoz was a competitor. I actually still have an LMP-07 t-shirt I got after Panoz had gone back to the LMP-01s.

One of the last things I did with my dad, I need to frame that thing.
